Dr. Chris Hinterobermaier
Dr.
Chris Hinterobermeier took up photography as a hobby at the age
of 16 and within 8 years became Austrian Photographic Champion,
a title that he held for 5 years. He has achieved over 700 international
awards in exhibitions and salons all over the world and has judged
25 international contests in Europe, USA, Japan and South Africa.
Chris has had 70 solo exhibitions and retrospectives in Austria
and 10 European countries and in 1991 one of his photographic career
highlights was a solo exhibition in New York.
In 1992, he founded the HASSELBLAD AUSTRIAN SUPER CIRCUIT, which
became the world's largest salon of photography in 1991. This year
is it's 11th edition and gained 44.000 entries from over 100 countries.
Since 1996, Chris has also been the picture editor of the PHOTOGRAPGHY
YEARBOOK a prestigious collection of the best photographs worldwide.
In 1999, he founded the biennial photo art festival "MOTIVA",
held in several Austrian cities, which in its first year had a total
of more than 100.000 visitors.
These huge contributions to photography have all been achieved
before the age of 41!
Chris originally became a Doctor of Law and has since worked in
investment banking and advertising. He lives in Linz, Austria, where
he is Chairman of his own company FOTOFORUMwhich specialises in
organizing cultural events for both large companies and communities.
Promotions, road shows and cultural entertainment are part of his
business.
