Roger Maile
Roger
Maile has been a keen photographer since his teens. He gained the
Licentiateship (1981) and Associateship (1983) of The Royal Photographic
Society. His main subject preference is portrait and figure work,
often choosing to work in monochrome. He uses both conventional
silver-based printing and alternative processes, including digital
imaging.
Roger is the managing director of Creative Monochrome, in which
capacity he is editor of Photo Art International, Digital Photo
Art and
Mono magazines, as well as selecting and editing the monochrome
yearbook, Best of Friends. Thus he spends most of his life working
with photographers, selecting images and presenting photography
and photographic techniques to an international audience.
Roger has selected images at international, national and local
club levels. He has run workshops on photographic publishing and
given talks and written articles on a wide range of htmlects of photography.
Most recently, he has presented the first of a series of CD Rom
tutorials on digital imaging techniques using Adobe Photoshop. He
also designed the highly successful Digital Photo Art Print Tuner
- an aid to colour control for digital printing.
