Newenglish
was founded in 1995 by Carl Bebbington and Wendy Draper. As co-creative
Directors, they will judge the student entries for this years International
PhotoArt. Newenglish is a progressive design consultancy focused
on brand and corporate identity, new media, strategic marketing
and interiors.
Both Carl and Wendy gained First Class degrees in graphic design
before working at Next on their corporate image in the early 1990's.
Newenglish's base in Leicester serves customers throughout the country,
including ICI, Honda, Birmingham City Council, Derby University,
NFU and numerous arts organisations.
Their love of art comes in all mediums and include painting, photography
architecture and sculpture.
They are inspired by work that leaves a lasting impression by stirring
the soul. This might be in the form of capturing a moment in time
in a photograph or a bold statement like the Guggenheim in Bilbao,
or indeed the art within it. Inspiration can come from nature -
the moment before a summer thunder storm when the sky is inky blue
and grass is luminous green, or equally from industrial environments:
the dramatic architecture to the intricacies of machines from the
industrial age. They like to view ordinary things from a fresh perspective.
Newenglish's style is contemporary and clean with a strong emphasis
on ideas.
This also is reflected in the way that the company is run and deals
with clients.
